Bargello Crochet Blanket Make-Along and Resources for New Knitters

Bargello Crochet Blanket Make-Along and Resources for New Knitters

February 22, 2021

Two of our favourite suppliers have come up with some fabulous ideas this month.

Stylecraft are highlighting this fabulous Crochet throw.  Designed by Anne & Michelle from Crochet Between Worlds, it's a bold and beautiful blanket that gives the impression of twists and waves with a 3D effect. The effect is made by keeping the height of each row the same (it's worked in rows of treble-crochets (UK) / Doubles (US))  but by varying the width of the blocks.

Stylecraft are hosting a make-along in their Facebook Group  and members of that group can get a 25% discount on the price of the pattern!  The pattern uses US crochet terminology and is available on Ravelry at US $ 4.99 before discount (approximately £3.65).

We have some yarn packs for the 3 beautiful colourways - you can find them on our kits page.

Resources for New Knitters

King Cole have been publishing a series of blog posts aimed at helping new knitters get to grips with the craft.  So far we've been impressed with the amount of information packed into each easy-to-digest post. For example: the first post includes some information on the different yarn weights and has a video about choosing needles.  It's a great way to help people in this time when face-to-face classes are not possible.
