Knitting Workshop - Knitting from Charts - 22nd July 2019

Knitting Workshop - Knitting from Charts - 22nd July 2019

  • £20.00
Tax included.

Charts can be a real benefit when you are knitting something complex: they help you to visualise how the finished piece will look and are great for showing you how stitches relate to each other.  You can also use them in designing your own motifs and colourwork. With many knitting designers providing patterns in charted form, learning how to interpret charts will open up a whole new world of designs.

In this workshop we will look at:

  • how to read a chart - both for working flat and in the round,
  • interpreting symbols and repeat marks,
  • how to keep track of repeats on your work,
  • charts for lace, cables and colourwork

Experience required: you will already know how to cast on and cast off, knit and purl stitches, simple increases and decreases.

Please bring along some 4mm knitting needles, or whatever you usually use for DK weight yarn.  We will provide yarn and patterns.   Tea and Coffee will also be provided.

This workshop is held in our friendly shop at 8A East Street, Ware, Herts, SG12 9HJ  from 7 - 9 pm.

Tutor: Deb Cunningham of Crates of Wool
