Knitting Workshop - Charts and Simple Lace - Tuesday 13th May

£40.00

Charts and lace knitting are natural buddies: charts help you to visualise how the finished piece will look and are great for showing you how stitches relate to each other, which makes lace knitting a breeze. With many knitting designers providing patterns in charted form, learning how to interpret charts will open up a whole new world of designs.

In this workshop we will look at:

  • how to read a chart - both for working flat and in the round,
  • interpreting symbols and repeat marks,
  • the stitches most commonly used in knitted lace,
  • how to keep track of repeats on your work,
  • the use of lifelines.

Experience required: you will already know how to cast on and cast off, knit and purl stitches, simple increases and decreases.

Please bring along some 5mm knitting needles, or whatever you usually use for Aran weight yarn. We will provide yarn and patterns. Tea and Coffee will also be provided.

This workshop is held in our friendly shop at 8A East Street, Ware, Herts, SG12 9HJ from 1:30 - 4:00 pm.
