Log Cabin Knitting - Thursday 20th March (afternoon)
Log Cabin Knitting takes its inspiration from the world of quilting. The original log cabin quilts were created from leftover strips of fabric, turned into things to keep you warm. In knitting we can do the same with simple garter stitch and then turn it into blankets, cushions, bags and even garments.
In both mediums, you work in one piece, joining onto previous sections. So there’s minimal fuss! It’s great for stash-busting too.
You will learn how to construct the log cabin stitches, how to pick up stitches consistently and how to work variations on the basic layout.
Experience required: Basic knitting skills - knit and purl, cast on and cast off.
You need to bring: 6mm knitting needles. We provide the rest.
The course takes place in our friendly shop at 8A East Street, Ware, SG12 9HJ on Thursday 20th March from 2pm to 4:30pm.
